January 2017

So we are at the start of another new year. This year so far, I am planning the walk the walk Marathon in May this is around London in the dark ((pretty cool)) I most definitely want to do the colour run again. There’s the newish bubble run and possibly the Wells 10k again if it’s after the marathon.

Why do I do this um, I think I am pretty mad, as mad as a box of frogs!

So training has commenced and it’s now February 2017.

Today consisted of an early morning 8 miler with my aunt, me best mate and my co-walker Karen. We talked about a lot of random babble from, literature, TV programmes, nutrition, politics and the odd giggle about mankinis  ((laughing out loud))… oh dear!!

So even before 10am I completed my step goal for.the day 10,000 steps Conquered!! Yes!! Let’s hope this shifts some unforgiving Christmas lbs.

So December is here and nearly over. I have had the most awful bug ever, I’ve not run nor worked out till yesterday. So since being ill I’ve lost amazing 5 lbs where mostly down the loo.. sorry yeh I know tmi!!

With the illness as my kids call it my appetite has gone right out the window.. so TGI Fridays 3 courses for £20 cheap date right here! So my birthday, was on the 6th and TGI Friday date night!! with hubby lasted 1.5 courses.  #toldyouso #cheapdate

Since 28.12 I’ve restarted insanity max.30 and by Joe it’s difficult, especially when before just over a year ago you killed this work out. #nailedit

Yeh, I officially now suck. Due to my obsessive disorder I will further this and conquer this, and i will own it’s ass! I officially timed out 5.02 minute, I puked. I did this work out I am not ashamed! #iownedit

Me! Right at the beginning.

Own your workout you did this! #ownit

Run? 2017

Well as many tried and some succeed to gain a place in the London Marathon. I failed and recieved my top, plus a lovely magazine.Telling me that if I wanted I could join a charity place. To be honest though, I would like join through the ballot spot. I have run for charities before and it becomes sometimes  stressful trying to raise hundreds of pounds and it can take the fun out of running. I am one of those people who chooses a charity and will support a charity wholeheartedly. My main charity is Mind, I all so support  Macmillian and Breast Cancer research.

SO Instead: Me and my friend Karen, Signed up for the Walk the Walk Full moon, which is a walking marathon.

Same training required but just a slower pace? maybe I might have that wrong though. It’s still in London, Clapham May 13th 2017. A lot less sponsorship required though.  So let the training commence… .

Amended: So as I prepped this blog post. I have become ill and have a chesty cough. So training postponed for now 😣 #wtwPinkArmy #breastcancer #tickledpink #mumwhoruns #womensrunning #behealthy

Busy bee today 🐝🐝

This morning was tough, I had.to use my own advice. Be kind to myself and sit down had a cupper of English Breakfast tea, black as I like it strong. My workout buddy Fi was here with her yoga mat in tow!

So after a chin wag, debating how we going to do this and I loaded the dvd up and grabbed me trusty comfy purple mat! We managed to do a whole hour of full body yoga. Ah, I did enjoy a very good stretch and I needed it. My hips were very tight.

Later that evening, my other fit friend wanted to do a dvd so we did plyometric cardio workout with shaun T.

Consistency & accountability

So last night before I went out on my run I messaged some running buddies about meeting at 8pm and heading out for a evening run. Most of them had eaten and couldn’t make the time. So I made plans and rearranged for Thursday night and a Sunday morning. Having some fit friends sure does keep you accountable and consistent. This helps maintain your focus, keeps you going. It is taking me longer this time round to move the excess weight, but I am not pressuring myself into harsh unrealistic goals!

One thing that’s true is I do forget my blog spot and I think it’s because who wants to read a insane mum who likes running. Who wants to all so, read her insane mental babble… 😂😂

6 weeks to go – Pretty Mudder

My final pre-booked run is coming up in 6 weeks. Bath Racecourse course pretty mudder 2016. I’m back on the road aiming for 5 km each time. Today I managed 4.76km in 34.minutes up some tough hills and I did well. I thank the wonderful bounce. 1 whole hour of high intensity interval training with big bounce boots. (Picture below of our class)

Is it very true being fit gives you so much energy and makes you happy. Even I have trouble recognising my own dark days. Sometimes I just just to remember I need to be kind and #digdeep.

So all you need to do is go out there and put one foot in front the other. Take your time and remind yourself that your lapping all the other people sat on the couch 🛋 progress is progress no matter how small it is. Whether it’s not eating that chocolate bar, doing an extra 1 km, choosing a salad over mc Donald’s! Or having a 125ml glass of wine instead of the 250ml. 😉 Start small and keep going! #mumwhoruns

Just keep going…

Monday, all ways work out on a Monday! It helps keep you motivated.

I didn’t run today, but I started with Cardio Boxing. Good half an hour of pure Cardio with great stress release.

If you feeling a bit down in the morning, take your time and care for yourself and plan to go out in the evening or even try a little 10 minutes yoga dvd. Anything helps whether it’s small 10 minutes or 1/2 hour Hiit workout. Be kind to yourself.

Back on it

Sorry I’ve been away but I’ve been training for two 6 mile fun runs.
All ways makes me laugh “Fun Run” it’s only ever “fun” at the finish with the medal around your neck and the trusty banana!!

On the 1st of May I had my first 10km in Glastonbury. This run is around the iconic Glastonbury Tor it’s not an easy 10km, if your new to running, I’d suggest another run to start with. There are lots of hills, pretty much, to be honest Hill after Hill. I managed to run, walk climb hills in a respectable 1 hour 14 minutes. I was surprised I wasn’t last but I didn’t do my best.

After Glastonbury Road Fun Run I trained over the next two weeks I covered over 30/40 kms. Preparing for the Wells Road Run which covers two 5km routes. Only one massive Hill  (phew). I am pleased to report I actually knocked off 4 minutes, I completed the run in an hour and 10 minutes!

This is me and my father at Wells Road Run.

After the Wells Road Run, feeling very happy with myself. I believe that even though it feels hard and you want to give up. Keep fighting though you can go further, just push through the barrier. It’s a mental battle most of the time, stay positive. #womensrunning #behealthy #positivity
