Well supposedly at the start of each year, your obligated to make a new year resolution but in doing so your probably setting yourself up to fail by following the new year bollocks. I think what you need to do is start little, try a few new things. Like take the bus and get off a stop before your normal stop. Use the stairs instead of tempting elevator. Try low calorie alternatives for snacks.
Shop online so you don’t pick up the added extras by browsing.

By starting changing the little things the bigger things will come. Follow a few new people on twitter or Instagram that have the same work outs you like doing and try a few classes. Yoga dvd like Davina or Geri Halliwell are great home starter dvd and you can grab them cheap on amazon.

Mum who Runs

Well now, were do i start? There are so many beginnings i could tell you about but i am sure one day i will get them all down. For now lets start back in June 2014, i decided one day whilst googling i’d like to do a Half Marathon and called my Dad. My Dad had previously done the London Parks Half Marathon in 2012 and 2013. So i rang him up and we signed up there and then. I chose the charity route so i had to gain sponsorship from friends, family and any one who loved to give.

Now what you have to understand here, I had never run a mile. The last time was in secondary school, year 11 athletics  1500 meters.

So my Dad suggested first off i needed to run for half an hour and try to cover about 5km (3 Miles). To my astonishment i did 5km in 33 minutes. i was very impressed !

I continued to train and used an Nike+ running app. The app tracks your runs through GPS i use it all the time now. It helps motivate you, doesn’t use a lot of your battery, plays music and you can get cheers from your friends if you allow the app to link to your social media. There is all so a narrator who updates you on your progress through your run.

Now zooming a head to 2015/16, after completing my half marathon in October 2014 of 2 hours 33 minutes. I sadly injured my knee ( i was very annoyed as i was heading for a 2.15 time) and subsequently piled all my mummy weight back on 😦 as it was too  painful to run and from the knee other various muscle related problems started. Eventually breaking my foot in summer of 2015 i decided to fully rest.

Zooming on again, after all these aliments have now thankfully gone and healed. Myself and a few close friends now get together and work out. One friend i run with during the week when our kids are at school and the other I do yoga with and Focus T25 . So from this I have now decided that 2016 i will keep up with my fitness and dedicate my runs for mind. This charity has helped me a lot. I myself suffer with mental health problems and running has become a way for me to get out and be a better person. I found that when i was running in 2014 i was on less medication, i was happy more as i felt like i was giving back.

Now i wish to do that again. Running is a way of therapy as well it helps clear your head, reset yourself. Certainly helps you loose those extra lbs and inches. It doesn’t matter how fast you run, how far you run, what time you did. Getting out there and it being you and the pavement, trail, track that is what counts. AArun
